Costa Rica’s Fuerza Publica to receive a 15% pay cut….

By Seth Renfield

It turns out there might be some correlation between the rise in crime rates and the high salaries of the local police force (sarcasm). It’s for that reason local lawmakers have decided to  lower police salaries by as much as 74,000 colones per month,  costing employees nearly 15% of the their average pay of 500,000 colones.

Obviously the Fuerza Publica are not happy about the reduction and pay and are threatening to take to the streets in protest.  Hopefully the newly released criminals will decide to take the same day off to show some solidarity but we seriously doubt it.
