Today Pope Francisco got a hard lesson in “Tico Time” from Costa Rica president Luis Guillermo Solis as he patiently awaited the presidents arrival for a scheduled meeting. The problem, as Solis explained, stemmed from a misunderstanding between the Vatican and the Costa Rica Delegation regarding exactly what time they were even supposed to meet.
The meeting was a simple affair that started with a handshake and included an exchange of gifts and ended with Solis inviting the Bishop back to Costa Rica to take the Popemobile out for a spin on the Caldera Highway. To which Pope Francisco replied with a definitive “maybe”.
